Checkers Mobile Overview

The object of checkers is simple, capture all of your opponents pieces by jumping them, or block them so that they cannot be moved. Your pieces may only move away from you, to a connected diagonal square that is unoccupied. If an opponents piece occupies a diagonally connected square, you may capture your opponents piece by jumping to the next diagonal space in the same direction if unoccupied. If you move one of your pieces to the other end of the board, it will become a king, and can move forward and reverse.

Game Rules

The object of Checkers is to capture or block all of your opponents game pieces. The game starts with twelve dark pieces and twelve light pieces on opposing sides of the board. Pieces can only move diagonally forward to an unoccupied square. One piece may be moved per turn. You may capture your opponents pieces if they occupy the diagonal space directly next to you, and there is a diagonal space open next to the piece. If a piece can capture an opponents piece, you must play that piece when it is your turn. When a piece reaches the far side of the board, it is converted to a king, which may also move backwards.

Moving Pieces

To move, select the piece that you want to move, and select the tile to move the piece to. When you have completed your turn, it is your opponents turn. The game progresses with alternating turns in this fashion.

Settings

You can change the game settings from the settings screen. You can set the side you would like to play by selecting the color. You can change the difficulty level of the computer player, and you can enable or disable sounds.

Registration

To enable the full functionality of the application you will need to enter a valid registration code. When you have entered your registration code properly, you will be able to select Done. If the code you have entered is incorrect, you will not be able to select done.
